Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders®) offer valuable first aid to people suffering from mental distress in the workplace and in the community, and is a recognised qualification for those looking to support the mental health of working people. MHFAiders® builds awareness and understanding around mental health, reducing stigma and discrimination around mental health and offering timely support, as well as how to build a mentally healthy workplace
The Refresher Training is also available to help existing Mental Health First Aiders maintain their skills. It is recommended that they attend this at least every three years.
The Mental Health Awareness (MHFA England) half-day course is available as either an online or in-person training session to challenge stigma, understand common mental health issues, care for our own mental health and give the confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue.
The Mental Health Champion (MHFA England) provides individuals with the knowledge to advocate for and to recognise if someone may need support with their mental health. Trained Mental Health First Aid Champions in the workplace can promote more understanding of mental health and help build a mentally healthy workplace. This course is available as either an online or face-to-face training session.
To achieve a Mental Health Awareness CPD Accreditation, a half-day course, developed by Total Wellbeing Matters is available.. The course covers spotting signs of distress, stress management, an introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing. This course is also available as either an online or face-to-face training session.
